about
By Children, For Children. Step by Step was written by Katie Richardson for Bright Young Things to convey their ethos and an anthem that their children and young people could sing and listen to, to get them through even the toughest of times.
Step by Step is about empowering young people with resilience and self-belief and letting them know that its okay not to be okay. All revenue from the track sales will be going directly to bright young thing's chosen charity, Cancer Fund for Children. Children who attend Bright Young Things Drama from across Northern Ireland recorded the track with Katie Richardson at Half Bap Studios in Belfast.
lyrics
Sometimes it’s hard to see the sunshine
Everywhere i look the clouds come rollin in
Sometimes it’s hard to hear the sweet sweet music
But nothing’s gonna stop me listening
I can get through whatever, don’t give up no never
I’ll float like a feather, Fly so high that nothing will get me down
Though the wind may blow we can just let go
‘Cause happiness is feeling everything
So find your voice and shout it out, sing it loud
take a deep breath, just step by step for now
Don’t be afraid just shake it out, break it down
You just stop and listen to yourself, you’re a bright young thing
Listen to yourself, you’re a bright young thing
Sometimes we need someone to lean on
Sometimes we need to share the load
When we’re together we’re unstoppable
And nothings gonna catch us in our flow
I can get through whatever, don’t give up no never
Whatever the weather, every cloud has a silver lining
Though the wind may blow we can just let go
‘Cause happiness is feeling everything
Find your voice and shout it out, sing it loud
take a deep breath, just step by step for now
Don’t be afraid just shake it out, break it down
You just stop and listen to yourself
Listen to yourself, you’re a bright young thing
Listen to yourself, you’re a bright young thing
Listen to yourself, you’re a bright young thing
It’s Ok not to be ok
To lose your way, when skies are grey.
Every day get up and sing we're bright young things
We'll sing together
Every day get up and sing, we're bright young things
Whatever the weather
It's OK not to be OK to lose your way
We'll sing together
It's OK not to be OK to lose your way
Whatever the weather
Find your voice and shout it out, sing it loud
take a deep breath, just step by step for now
Don’t be afraid just shake it out, break it down
You just stop and listen to yourself
Find your voice and shout it out, sing it loud
take a deep breath, just step by step for now
Don’t be afraid just shake it out, break it down
You just stop and listen to yourself
